Cheating is Okay: Evelyn & Chad Style

So the last Basketball Wives episode saw Evelyn and Chad talking about their commitment to each other and staying faithful over the course of their upcoming nuptials. During the duration of their talk, Evelyn basically tells Chad that if he cheats, he needs to wear a condom and tell her about it. She also said, She said she'd respect him more if he at least told her about, rather than keeping it from her.

I saw that talk between the two of them as her giving him an OK to cheat whenever he wants to as long as she knows about it. She even said he could bring another woman into the bedroom with them as long as she liked the girl too. Evelyn is known for being fiesty when it comes to situations that don't sit right with her, but she's being a complete push over when it comes to Chad and his cheating. She's basically telling him and the world that, "Hey, it's okay if he or she cheats on you as long as they tell you what and who they're doing." What kind of message does that send out to young girls who look up to her, or even her daughter for that matter?

It's like she's okaying the cheating just so she can say, "I have a man and he takes care of me." because we all know that money is one of the major reasons Evelyn is with him anyway. She's giving him all the power in the world to hurt her throughout their "relationship" and I just don't see her logic.

Anyway, how do you guys feel about it? Talk it out below!

Reunited Lovers

So, guess who hopped on the track with Rihanna for her "Birthday Cake Remix"? Chris Brown. Yes you heard that right, Chris Brown! Rihanna isn't the only one living dangerous either, Chris had her jump on his "Turn Up the Music" remix as well. While they've come under fire for the collaborations, I must say....I DON'T CARE. The music is good and if they want to possibly ruin their careers just for the sake of jumping each others bones again then that is fine by me. I have no thoughts on their personal business. I'm just happy that Rhi Rhi finished one of my favorite songs on her album because I, like many others, was pissed that it wasn't a full track!

The tracks are hot as ever and immediately made their way to my designated playlists. Get into the music after the jump!

Whitney Houston Dies at 48

RIP Whitney Houston (1963-2012)

I have no words for this one. I'm kind of shocked. She had one of the greatest voices in the world. She's truly going to be missed in the music world. Prayers go out to her family and friends at this very difficult time.

SOURCE
According to TMZ,  Whitney passed away today at The Beverly Hilton Hotel and there were signs of foul play. Of course she was in town to celebrate the Grammy’s and attend Clive Davis’ annual pre-Grammy concert tonight.
Her last public appearance was Thursday night as she attended Kelly Price’s pre-Grammy concert. Whitney surprised everyone with an impromptu performance of ‘Jesus Loves Me.’
We all first met Whitney when she burst on the scene in 1985 as Davis’ latest protege. At 19 years old, the model turned pop singer quickly became the ‘it’ girl, eventually selling over 170 millions records worldwide. But her career high was the Grammy and Academy Award winning remake of the Dolly Parton classic ‘I Will Always Love You,’ from her acting debut, ‘The Bodyguard’ co-starring Kevin Costner.
Whitney is survived by her daughter Bobbi Kristina (with ex husband Bobby Brown) and her mother, gospel singer Cissy Houston.

New Video: Ni**as In Paris

Kanye West and Jay-Z finally released a video for 'Ni**as in Paris' from their album, Watch the Throne. It's a seizure waiting to happen, but I love the song and still play it like they released it yesterday lol. It's basically a video of them performing the song at their concert, which I absolutely HATE that I wasn't able to go to.

Click below to watch it...

Solange Knowles in Vera Wang

#FTMFW
Solange Knowles looks so good in this dress! She wore it at the Runway to Win fundraiser for President Barack Obama's campaign in New York City.  The printed peplum dress is from Vera Wang's Spring/Summer 2012 Ready to Wear collection and she accompanied the dress with blue Giuseppe Zanotti Ankle Strap Double Platform Peep-Toe Pumps and a sequined clutch. Solange gave me life, that is all.

Basketball Wives Miami Season 4: THE DRAMA!!!

So everyone knows the issues that Evelyn Lozada and Jennifer Williams had during the last season. Well their beef has gotten much worse since then and its all going to come to a series of fists, kicks and name calling! I'm so excited! Evelyn is giving me everything and more with her bout it attitude and it seems like Jen has that same, 'I really don't care if you hit me, i'm not going to do anything anyway.'

The two new girls, Kenya Bell and Kesha N'ichols, seem like they'll be bringing some drama to the new season as well, as you can see them stirring up trouble with Tami Roman, Evelyn Lozada, and Royce Reed.

The trailer below contains all the drama and name calling that we've come to know and love! Oh and I hope Jen recovers from that smack! I'm just sayin'!

Dope or Nope?

Model Jessica White also stepped out to Jay Z's benefit concert at the Carnegie Hall in NYC. She chose to wear this daring,  sheer lace Balenciaga Jumpsuit with a small black clutch, white sandals and red lips. She neglected to wear a bra but did remember to wear matching white underwear!  If you've got it flaunt it, and she definitely has it. If you choose to find an alternative to this, please make sure you have the right body type for this. That's just my opinion though!

So tell us, did she make it look good or was this just a sad fashion mistake?

She's Baaaaack!

Beyonce stepped out last night to support her hubby Jay-Z at his benefit concert at the Carnegie Hall in NYC. She stepped out in a red ruched Alice by Temperley dress, Alexander McQueen clutch and Christian Louboutin Bollywood pumps. Her nails were also painted blue and matching blue Ofira & Lorraine Schwartz jewels adorned her finger. Her post baby body looks amazing. New Video: Miguel - Adorn

Miguel has another smooth cut for us from his upcoming mixtape, Art Dealer Chic Vol. I, which is to be released on February 27th. Miguel's voice is like silk over the beat and I fell in love with it the instant I pressed play. He's such a talented singer, but he's so underrated! Give Miguel more recognition, but that's just my opinion. Check the video out after the jump and tell us how you feel!

BHM: Ernest Everett Just

Dr. Ernest Everett Just was born on August 14, 1883 in Charleston, South Carolina. His mother worked as a teacher to support their family after his father died when Just was four years old. When he was 17 years old, he left home to get a better education up north. He received a scholarship to Kimball Union Academy where he was the only black student in attendance. From there he went to Dartmouth College where he studied biology as well as history and he was the only black student to graduate from the school magna cum laude.

After he graduated, he accepted a teaching position at Howard University where he taught zoology and later on headed the whole department. In 1909 he began work as a research assistant during the summer to Dr. Frank Lillie, who was the director of the Marine Biological Laboratory, where he studied marine eggs.

On February 2, 1915 Dr. Just became the first recipient of the prestigious Spingarn Medal of the NAACP. He was recognized for his contributions and pioneering in cell division and fertilization. In 1916 the University of Chicago awarded him with a Ph.D. in experimental embryology. He continued to receive many accolades and published many scientific articles that garnered him recognition as one of the greatest African American scientists in his field. Despite all of the recognition and respect he gained for his accomplishments, he still felt held back and  humiliated by the limitations that were posed on him as a black man. So he took a 5 year grant that he received from the Rosenwald Foundation, left his teaching position at Howard and went to Italy to continue his research. When his health began to fail, he returned to teaching at Howard University in 1940. He died of pancreatic cancer in 1941.

BHM: RIP Don Cornelius

As you all may or may not know, Don Cornelius, the innovative man behind the longest running black music television show Soul Train died on February 1, 2012, the beginning of Black History Month. It was reported that he died from what looked like a suicide gunshot wound to the head.

We won't dwell so much on the tragic end of this man's life, but on who he was and how he changed the way black music was presented to America and paved the way for many black artists to be recognized just like their white counterparts.Don Cornelius was born in Chicago on September 27, 1936. He started off in the insurance business in the 1950's. He decided later on that he wanted to go into the field of broadcasting. Back in the early 70's, there was no music television show that was aimed specifically at young African Americans. Don Cornelius, who was a substitute DJ at the time pitched the idea to his WCIU, a television station in Chicago where he worked at a Sports Anchor. He used $400 dollars of his own money to create the pilot for Soul Train and the rest as they say was history.

She's a singer/songwriter that has written for many popular UK artists like Leona Lewis, Cher Lloyd, Susan Boyle and Tinie Tempah. She even received praise from Simon Cowell for her great songwriting skills, with him calling her "his favorite songwriter of the moment". This particular song, "Next To Me" is off of her upcoming album, Our Version of Events which is due out February 13, 2012. I think she's pretty dope, so check her out and tell me what you think!

Love is Evil

courtesy: Jupiter Images

Sometimes we as women find it hard to control our emotions when it comes to our significant other. To men it seems like a piece of cake, almost as if they don't have feelings. When it goes bad, we are at home crying our eyes out getting fat off of chocolate ice cream while they are out partying, drinking on some Hennessy, etc.  That brings me to my next point. Why do we get emotionally attached so easily?

My theory is that love is the devil. It's good while it lasts, but it hurts like hell when its all over.
So women ask yourself, "Do I really wanna be an emotional wreck for someone who could care less about me or my feelings?"  Love yourself first before you start loving someone else.

Leave me some feedback, I wanna know how you guys feel about this.

TYE

Not the Internet!

Imagine a world with no Wikipedia, no Google, no downloading music. Well Congress has some legislature that will be voted upon that will do just that. If you've been on Google or Wikipedia today, you'll notice they have censored themselves in order to represent what the bill if passed would actually do.

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Today we celebrate a man who has inspired this country and continues to do so even after his assassination in 1968. Instead of looking at this day as another day off from school or work, take some time to really think about what Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. stood for and what he would want us all to be doing for this country today had he still been alive. He fought against injustice and he fought for a better tomorrow for all and we should continue to do the same. If you take a look at most streets in America that bear his name, you would see that we have a lot of work to do. We as African Americans continue to degrade our legacy by living up to those same stereotypes that we try so hard to defend ourselves against. One of my favorite episodes of  The Boondocks, "Return of the King" gives a look into what he would think of our neighborhoods and our behavior. After viewing the episode several times and laughing my butt off,  I couldn't agree more with the assertion that he would just throw his hands up and say, "I CAN'T with these negroes of today!"

All that our ancestors have fought for cannot be in vain. They made so many sacrifices so that we would be able to walk into whatever school we want to or to be a competitive party for that high paying job, or many many other things we have the privilege to be able to do  that I won't even begin to name. I could post his infamous I Have a Dream speech, but I won't. Instead I want you all to see Aaron MacGruder's Boondocks episode and think about everything they're saying while you are laughing.  Check it out after the jump.
