Not the Internet!

Imagine a world with no Wikipedia, no Google, no downloading music. Well Congress has some legislature that will be voted upon that will do just that. If you've been on Google or Wikipedia today, you'll notice they have censored themselves in order to represent what the bill if passed would actually do.

More after the Jump!

I, for one, know that Wikipedia or Google is an absolute life saver for papers, research, and countless other useful things. If the government were able to make these simple tools disappear, people all over would suffer tremendously, including your professors! Imagine all those fail papers they'll have to grade?!

So, if you are like me and you don't necesarily agree with these peices of legislature look below to see how you can "save the internet"!

  • Contact your elected officials! Go to Wikipedia, enter your zip code and they will give you the information for  your representative.
  • Go to Google and click "Tell Congress: Please Don't censor the web" and it will take you to an online petition.
  • Use that useful thing called Twitter or Facebook and tell all your family and friends to follow either step one, two or both!

We elected these people to be our voice. So let them hear you!
